Setting your On-Demand Call Recording Announcement
On-demand Call Recording is a feature on your RingCentral account which allows your users to record calls at any time by pressing
(*9) on a phone dialpad. For more information about On-demand Call Recording, go to
Configuring the Call Recording Settings on your RingCentral account.
You can customize this feature by recording your own greeting or uploading a pre-recorded file. For instructions, follow the steps below:
NOTE: You need to be an
Administrator to perform the following procedure.
The On-demand Call Recording Announcements are originally set to
Default. To customize your On-demand Call Recording Announcements,click on the announcement that you wish to customize and then, click
Edit.
Announcement on Start
When starting the recording of a call, this message will be played to indicate that the recording is starting.
Announcement on Stop
When ending the recording of a call, this message will be played to indicate that the recording function has been turned OFF.
Step 5:
Upon clicking on
Edit, a pop-up window appears. Select
Custom on the
Set Greeting dropdown menu.

NOTE: You can also select the View In Language. This option allows you to select your own language to display the default greeting text. Your selection here affects only your current view of the greeting text. it will not change the Greetings Language setting.

Step 6:
Upon selecting
Custom on
Set Greeting, you can customize your On-demand Call Recording Announcement in
three (3) ways:
• Recording by Phone
• Recording by Computer microphone
• Recording by Importing
Recording by Phone
This option will allow you to record your customized On-demand Call Recording Announcement over the phone. Select
Record over the phone, enter your telephone number on the box provided and then click
Call now. RingCentral will try to reach the phone number you keyed in, after which you will be given instructions on to record your announcement. Click
Done when finished.
Recording by Computer microphone
This will allow you to record your own On-demand Call Recording Announcement using your computer's microphone.
Step 1:
Select
Computer microphone and then,
click
Record to start your recording.
Step 2:
Once you've finished recording your custom On-demand Call Recording Announcement, click the Record again.
Step 3:
Click
Upload.
NOTE: Click
Play 
to listen to your recording or
Record 
to re-record your prompt. Click
Cancel to cancel recording.
Step 4:
Click
Done.
NOTE: Click
Play 
to listen to your recording or
Record 
to re-record your prompt. Click
Download
to save a copy of your recording.
Record by Importing
This option will allow you to upload a customized pre-recorded audio file stored from your computer/device.
Step 1:
Click
Importing and then, click
Browse.
NOTE: After you click
Browse, you will see a pop-up window where you can locate and select the file that you want to use as your On-demand Call Recording Announcement. You can only use
.wav or
.mp3 audio files with the following format for best audio quality:
• CCITT u-Law (G711a), 8 kHz, 8-bit, mono
• PCM, 8 kHz, 16-bit, mono
Step 2:
Once you have selected the file, click
Done.
NOTE: Click
Play 
to listen to your recording or
Record 
to re-record your prompt. Click
Download
to save a copy of your recording.
