SummaryThis article provides information on how Account Administrators can assign an existing DigitalLine to a different extension.

A DigitalLine allows a user to receive incoming and make outbound calls. There are times when a DigitalLine needs to be assigned to a different extension.


Assign a DigitalLine to a Different Extension

1. Log in to your RingCentral account.

2. Go to Phone System Phones & Devices > User Phones. Select the DigitalLine you want to re-assign.

3. Click Edit User.

Click edit user

4. Select the extension you need the DigitalLine to be assigned to. Click Save.


For RingCentral Desktop App, you need to sign out and sign back in.
• For RingCentral Provided IP phones, the phones should reboot by itself
• For Non - RingCentral IP phones, you need to manually reboot the phones
